Samuel Blocker walked through the doors of the famed Harlem world Nightclub in the Summer of 1978, as a DJ/ rapper with the DJ crew called Teddy D & the D&D Express. It's leader, Teddy D, also happened to be an investor partner in the the club, but he had a true passion for music as well. Shortly, afterward, Sam met a young man by the name of Charles Leake, that frequented Harlem World as a customer. It wasn't to long before the two of them discovered that they had many things in common. Neither of them indulged in any of the typical negative vices, like drugs, alcohol, and smoking of any kind. This transitioned into a lifelong friendship.
The two of them, along with two of the house DJs, Randy sanders (DJ Randy) and Darryl Brown (DJ Kool D). Together they became known as the Harlem World Crew. For the next seven year, until it's closing in 1985, the Harlem World Crew was a key part of the club's popularity. They hosted tons of famous top selling recording artists, hip hop legends, and local celebrities alike.
Harlem World closed its doors in 1985, but the the men of the Harlem World Crew remained close friends. Throughout the following years, they continued to provide music and entertainment. As life would have it, DJ Randy, then later DJ Kool D would passed on. On October 10th 2019, MC Son of Sam passed away in his home. He was discovered by MC Charlierock, after after not hearing from Sam for several days, decided to check in on him. He call the NYC Police to perform a wellcare check.
